St. Joseph Church 5k run/Walk

The St. Joseph Church 5K Run/Walk kicks off the church's annual Summer Picnic. This event is open to runners and walkers of all levels. The course, which begins and ends on Kundek Street next to St. Joseph's Parish Center, is run on gently rolling hills along Jasper's city streets. All participants will receive a t-shirt and be entered to win attendance prizes.

Registration 7:15 am -- Race begins at 8:00 am.

where can i get route info for this race? i set my 5k pr in it last year and have been killing myself to beat that time but the closest i've gotten is around :15. is it a short course? i'd like to measure it myself.

Yes, we have to admit, the route is a little short. Last year we measured it at 2.98. Here is an explanation of the route beginning on Kundek Street adjacent to St. Joseph's Church Parish Center...

1. Right on 10th Street
2. Left on St John Street
3. Right on 9th Street
4. Right on Bartley Street
5. Left on 15th Street
6. Turn around just before 15th Street and St. Charles
7. Continue to run/walk the same route back to St. Joe's
8. 15th Street
9. Right on Bartley
10. Left on 9th Street
11. Left on St. John Street
12. Right on to 10th Street
13. Back up to circle area south of Parish center

On second thought, St. Joe's 5k course is pretty accurate. I remeasured it yesterday at 3.07. Still a hair short, but we can expect some fast times.
