Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center's Phillip R Dawkins Heart and Vascular Center was presented with a check for $13,062.00 on Wednesday, October 23 from D.C. Multisport and members of the Heartland Half Marathon and 5K Committee. The money was raised from entry fees from over 600 participants in the half marathon and 5K events as well as from sponsorships. The proceeds will be utilized for new integrative medicine services provided to cardiac patients.
This was the second year for the Heartland Half Marathon, created and planned by a dedicated group of runners from the area with assistance from D.C. Multisport. Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center served as corporate sponsor of the event. D.C. Multisport’s goal is to increase sport and fitness-related events in Dubois County.
